Fashion photography is a funny thing. You can literally do whatever you want with the freedom to try new things and see what the outcome is... good or bad. I love that. I love that there is no "right" or "wrong" and that whatever I can come up with will, more than likely, result in a well received image.
From the beginning, I knew I wanted to try and submit these images for publication. Although I felt the images were strong enough, I knew it could be a difficult process due to the lack of variety in the outfits shown. I had a slew of other shots featuring other dresses, but none of them were as strong as what you see below. This is where the "no rules" of fashion photography come into play. Through the process of coming up with bad idea after bad idea, I was able to add the "variety" that magazines look for without having to dig into images that didn't fit the collection.
Thanks again to Yvette for bringing her professionalism and vintage beauty to this shoot. It's always a pleasure working with her and I look forward to the next time we can work together.
